The Story of My Firstborn Pt.2

So here we are, what I thought was a simple visit from my parents has turned into a life altering day. I was shocked. This seriously came out of nowhere! And what a small world.
My mom asked me what I wanted to do. I really didn't have any idea. Finals were coming up, I had a conference in Nashville and I was getting ready to move home for the summer. So after much consideration and more talking with my parents, I decided to put it on the back burner, at least for a few months while I finished everything up with school. My mom agreed to not say anything to Carol during their visits and I went on with life.

Two Months Later...

I'd been home from St.George about a week when I decided it was time to tell Carol who we thought I was. If that makes sense.
My mom was planning on going up to Carol's for lunch one day and to do geneology. So we planned that I would come up a little later saying I needed to get something from my mom just I could meet Carol and kinda of get a feel for the situation and go from there. I drove up with my Dad and knocked on the door. Carol had sent my mom to answer the door, she led me down to where Carol was sitting. She had her back to me, and when I said hello she spun around all wide eyed and looked at me like I had horns growing out of my head. She must have stared at me for a good minute or two before she asked me how old I was. I told her I would be turning 22 next week. She said, you're Nancy's daughter'. Assuming she was talking about my birth mom I told her that we thought I might be but we weren't 100% sure. Assuring me that we were right she led me to a picture on the wall.
It was like I was looking at myself. The resemblance was uncanny. It was her. Crazy.
Carol was so excited, she immediately picked up the phone and dialed Nancy's number. The machine picked up and she left a voicemail asking Nancy to call her asap without an explanation of what was going on.
Then she called Nancy's brother David. He answered and she told him what had happened and who I was. He asked to speak with me, I got on the phone and we had only been talking for a minute when Carol's house phone rang. (We were on her cell.) It was Nancy, I told David we would talk later and hung up.
All Carol said to Nancy was that there was someone here that wanted to talk to her and handed me the phone. I was so nervous! I didn't really know what to say. I said hello, she asked me who I was, and I asked her if she had a baby in Utah on May 26, 1982 and she said yes and asked me if it was me. And the conversation went from there.
We talked about where I lived and my family. She wanted to know if I was married, had any kids, hair color, eye color, name, my life, everything. We both couldn't talk fast enough.
She told me she lived in California and she would love to meet me.
We were on a plane the next evening.
We, my mom and I, got there late at night and checked into a hotel with plans to meet Nancy at her mom's house the next morning.
I really couldn't believe this was happening. And I didn't get much sleep the night.
The next morning we set out to Nancy's. I had my mom stop at a flower shop on the way so I could bring some flowers to my biological Grandma who I would also be meeting that day. The drive was only about an hour, but it seemed like it took all morning.
We finally arrived at the gate to their community. They buzzed us in and we pulled up to their house.
